Seismic Survey

Stakeless Seismic in Utah
Lone Mountain's specialty is conducting cultural resource clearances for seismic exploration projects in a variety of environments.  Our experience working with state, federal, tribal, and municipal agencies allows us to expedite projects in a professional and timely fashion.

What we can offer

With decades years of seismic experience, we have perfected a system of real-time data management enabling us to process survey results while the survey is in progress, rather than waiting until after fieldwork has been completed. Our rapid turnaround time, without sacrificing accuracy or quality, has made Lone Mountain the industry leader for seismic projects in New Mexico.

Our staff is highly experienced at conducting clearance for these fast-paced projects and working closely with land management agencies to obtain the necessary clearances. We have 15 permitted supervisory archaeologists on our SE New Mexico BLM permit and can quickly mobilize our experienced crews within a matter of days.

Highlights of our seismic experience

  • Conducted cultural resource clearance on more than 80 seismic projects for oil and gas exploration, including large- and small-scale seismic surveys ranging from micro-seismics, several miles of 2-D, to over 9,000 miles of 3-D seismic lines;
  • Conducted cultural clearances for seismic projects on federal and tribal lands in New Mexico, Utah, Oklahoma, Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming;
  • The largest majority of our seismic experience has taken place in southeastern New Mexico within the Carlsbad BLM district, where in the past 20 years we have surveyed over 500,000 acres and recorded more than 6,000 archaeological sites;
  • Conducted cultural resource clearance for stake-less seismic projects utilizing our advanced GPS and GIS capabilities.
