Jon R. Blackwelder, MA RPA, has been serving as Principal Investigator at Lone Mountain since 2021. Jon came to Lone Mountain with over three decades of experience in the field of archaeology. In various roles from field technician through principal investigator. Jon has worked in numerous states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Michigan.
Jon's graduate work was with Mississippian pottery. He has a GIS background and was trained in GPR and metal detection.
