Utility Projects

Surveys for utility corridors, particularly for the installation of buried fiber optic cable, are a Lone Mountain specialty. Our staff has cumulatively conducted a vast range of utility corridor studies for power, water, telephone, slurry, and gas transmission, for a number of different companies and commissions. Many times these projects involved coordination with several regulatory agencies such as NMDOT, the BLM, and various National Forests. Lone Mountain also conducted a complex series of delivery orders for telephone line replacement projects on tribal lands, which involved archaeological survey, monitoring, and ethnographic studies. We have conducted more than 100 projects for clients under contract with NMDOT for undertakings such as borrow pits, yard sites, hot plants, and fence replacement.
